AI Takeoff by Matrak

Zero clicks. Takeoffs while you sleep.

Matrak's AI reads your construction drawings, marks them up, measures what's in them and drafts a Bill of Quantities to your requirements — in minutes, with zero clicks. We've produced full zero-click BOQs on real commercial projects across a range of trades; AI output varies with the documents and instructions you give it, so every measurement is shown marked up on the drawing for you to verify. Built on the Matrak platform, which has tracked materials across 90+ trades on 1,300+ projects.

What is Matrak AI Takeoff?

Takeoffs are the most monotonous, thankless part of construction. Matrak does them for you. Drop in a drawing set — or pull it straight from Procore, Autodesk or Aconex — and Matrak's AI reads the drawings and drafts the takeoff for you in minutes: marked-up plans, measurements, and a Bill of Quantities built to your quoting format — ready for you to verify. No new system to learn. It hands hundreds of estimating hours back to your team and gets more bids out the door. Until now this was an internal system for the world's largest builders — today it's open to everyone.

The universal unlock: know your materials, automate everything

A takeoff isn't just a bid tool. Understanding the materials on a project is the foundation of automating all of construction. Matrak turns your BOQ into the live spine of the build: materials traceability, supply-chain coordination, ordering, logistics, warehousing, quality (ITPs), install, schedule — even Scope 3 embodied-carbon tracking. The takeoff is the cheat-code; everything downstream follows from it.

See how it all connects at Matrak Connect.

Two ways to use it

Screen a project before you bid

Run a fast, low-cost takeoff to size up a job before you commit. Know the quantities — and whether it's worth chasing — in minutes, not days.

Run the full production takeoff

Won the bid? The same tool drafts the full marked-up BOQ to your format — verify and tighten it with the built-in tools, then let it drive ordering, manufacturing and the rest of the build.

Takeoffs for 90+ trades

Matrak supports more than 90 trades — counting symbols, measuring areas and tracing lineal runs. A few of the trades estimators use it for:

Pull drawings straight from your systems

Connect Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud or Aconex and import your drawing set with no downloading and re-uploading. Tailor the output to your trades and your quoting format, then move straight from a won bid into supply-chain coordination.

Pricing: pay per takeoff, no subscription

No software subscription stacked on top of your labour costs. You buy a pool of credits and spend them as you go — one credit is one trade on one project.

$891 trade, 1 project

Pay-as-you-go — a single credit.

$1,37020 credits

Spend 20 trades on one project (GC), or one trade across 20 projects (subbie) — your call.

💸 A single-trade BOQ from a human estimator often runs $2,000+ on a large project — and takes days. Matrak drafts a marked-up first pass for $89 — around 4% of that cost — in minutes, not days.

Because it's pay-as-you-go and this cheap, you can run a takeoff just to screen a job — decide whether an invitation is worth bidding in minutes, instead of losing hours in the PDFs only to find it's the wrong job for you.

AI first — with a human safety net

Want a hand with the results? Every takeoff includes up to an hour of human-estimator time from our experienced team — if you choose to use it — to resolve tweaks and tidy the output. Need more estimating work than an hour covers? We'll quote it at standard takeoff rates. You're never on your own.

How Matrak compares to manual takeoff tools

Every other takeoff tool — Bluebeam, Togal, Autodesk Takeoff, PlanSwift, STACK and more — still needs a person to run the takeoff. See how Matrak's zero-click approach compares:

Frequently asked questions

What is Matrak AI Takeoff?

It's an AI that reads your construction drawings and drafts a marked-up Bill of Quantities to your requirements. Drop in a PDF or import from Procore, Autodesk or Aconex, and a first-pass takeoff is ready in minutes — marked up so you can verify every number.

How much does it cost?

Takeoffs are pay-as-you-go: $89 for one trade on one project, or $1,370 for 20 credits. Every takeoff includes up to an hour of human-estimator time if you'd like our team to help resolve tweaks; estimating work beyond that hour is quoted at standard takeoff rates.

How accurate is it?

Honestly: it depends on your documents and your brief. The AI can only measure what's shown in the drawings you give it, and it builds to what you ask for — so accuracy varies with drawing quality and trade. That's why every measurement is shown marked up on the drawing for you to verify, the built-in tools make fixes fast, the AI can talk you through improving the takeoff, and you can trigger a full re-run. If you'd like a hand, up to an hour of human-estimator time is included with every takeoff. For screening a job or a first-pass BOQ, it saves hundreds of hours against a fully manual takeoff.

Which trades and documents does it handle?

More than 90 trades, from drawing PDFs plus schedules and specs. It counts symbols, measures areas and traces lineal runs in a single pass.

How is it different from Bluebeam, Togal or Autodesk Takeoff?

Those tools still need a person to run the takeoff. Matrak reads your drawings and drafts the BOQ for you — marked up so you can verify every number — then feeds the result into your whole supply-chain. See our comparison pages for the detail.

Is my data private?

Your drawings stay yours — secure and private.

Can I pull drawings from Procore or Autodesk?

Yes. Connect Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud or Aconex and import your drawing set directly — no downloading and re-uploading.
